Capacity Building

Encouraging a shared responsibility for the well-being of children, the Mary J. Wright Research and Education Centre is strongly focused on capacity building and knowledge-translation. A key emphasis of the Centre will be to ensure that we work to close the gap between what we know and what we do, in order to improve the outcomes of young children. Knowledge of early child development and evidence-based early intervention and education practices will be shared through professional development and creative knowledge sharing opportunities with families. By developing early prevention and intervention strategies and training the community in their use, The Centre is working to empower the local community , including parents, volunteers, and professionals to utilize those strategies to help improve all children’s chances of success.
